Cat-eye is the most-ordered look for round eyes in our production runs, with squirrel and wispy behind it — all three pull visual weight outward and stretch the eye. Below: each look on round eyes, the map that builds it, and why centre-peaked doll sets are the one family artists flag.

The shape under the looks
The looks above are built on the geometry below. Tap a drawing for the reasoning.
The shape — round eyes+ why− close
Round Eyes, before any extensions. Full, open curve on both lids — height close to width, with the iris framed by visible white.
Why this build works on round eyes
The mapping logic runs on one axis: elongate, don’t round further. Peaks shift toward the outer third, strong curls stay out of the centre zones (centre emphasis reads as a surprised look), and D curl earns its place only in the outer third of cat-eye sets. Doll mapping is the recognised worst fit here — broad industry consensus — so when a client insists, artists use a flattened-peak compromise with C/CC only.
The build — sample map+ how− close
Every look above is built from a zone map like this one — the zone structure of this shape’s natural-classic map, inner to outer, from our mapping matrix. Exact lengths, curls and thickness unlock in the Style Matcher below. This is one of fifteen maps we chart for this shape; the full set covers all five effects across classic, hybrid and volume.

The flagged mismatch for round eyes; centre emphasis exaggerates roundness. Offered only as a flattened-peak compromise.

Texture on a cat-leaning base, with spike peaks in the outer third only — centre spikes amplify roundness.

We make the trays these maps call for — private label, from the fiber up: classic lashes, volume lashes, easy fan and premade fans, plus the adhesives and studio tools behind them. Mixed-length trays (7–15mm) cover a full zone map from a single tray.

- Which lash styles do studios order most for round eyes?
- Cat-eye and squirrel dominate — both move the visual weight outward and elongate the eye. Centre-peaked doll sets are the least ordered and carry an industry-wide caution for this shape.
- Why is doll mapping discouraged on round eyes?
- A centre peak adds height where the eye is already tallest, exaggerating roundness. When clients request it anyway, artists flatten the peak and cap curls at CC.
- Where does D curl belong on round eyes?
- Outer third only, on cat-eye style sets. Central D curl concentration is the common mistake — it rounds and startles the look.
